Becoming A Freemason
If you would like to become a Freemason or want to know more about
joining, it is customary, but not necessary, to speak about it first to a
friend, colleague or family member whom you know already to be one.
They
will be able to explain to you, insofar as they can, what it’s all
about and explain the process of joining (if you would like to) after
learning more about us.
If you don’t know anyone at all who is a member, then get in touch with our Secretary - contact details on this website.
Tell
us who you are and little bit about yourself. We will see if we can be
of help to find someone who is a member that you do know, but you didn’t
know was a member. It is important to us to work this way, for all
members have to be sponsored.
When making enquiries to join would you please give your full name, address, telephone number and email address.
Your
contact will mention to you that your commitments to your family must
come first, whatever happens, but that after this, your membership, as a Freemason, will call upon your time, energy and pocket to an extent
that you alone must decide.
There are a two express requirements of every Freemason, and these are:
All members must believe in a universal Supreme Being, and
Freemasonry is apolitical and accepts members of all faiths - therefore
politics and religion are topics that cannot be discussed at Lodge
meetings.
Additional guidance on becoming a Freemason may be found on the
United Grand Lodge of England's website.
